  39. It's typical. When a manual is written by the programmer it will usually
  40. be written with all the excitement of C code, and it won't include basic, 
  41. necessary information because the programmer thinks it's all so very 
  42. obvious.

  44. The way I look at it, heck, anyone can program a computer. It's just a 
  45. matter of on/off 1/0 logical states. But few can successfully write code 
  46. for the human brain. That's what a manual is.  :^)

  48. Imagine if you had to write code that needed to run on a huge variety
  49. of platforms with very little standardization, with some of them perhaps
  50. not completely functional and with processing integrity varying by time 
  51. of day, what was for lunch, and the proximity of the nearest member of the
  52. opposite sex; using a programming language that no one fully understands, 
  53. that's used differently in different parts of the world, and that changes by 
  54. the minute. (I would never use a sentence like that in a manual but you
  55. folks have high-end CPUs that can parse complex statements :^)

  57. BTW, Aladdin was just picked up by Nova Design (the ImageFX folks).
  58. Should be interesting to see what they do with it. Also, the LW manuals
  59. have improved a bit since 3.0.

  84. PS. The WCS manual will be split into two books for V2 final. We are
  85. looking into options that should help them do a better job of laying flat.
